Everybody in Boulder knows about the Boulder Creek Festival. After all, how could you even get across town on Memorial Day Weekend without first attempting to navigate around the Bolder Boulder and the famous jam-packed festival, which both occur simultaneously? What many new transplants don't know about, and in some ways is sweet to keep as a lesser known event, is the Boulder Creek Hometown Fair. This Labor Day weekend marks the 12th Annual Boulder Creek Hometown Fair. I'm not so sure that I'll be getting quite the small, quaint event that I've been used to these past 11 years that I've li...

I thought this news was worth repeating. It's something that many visitors and future residents might like to know about Boulder, CO - after all, we are one of the healthiest cities in America. Smoking in public buildings is already prohibited in Boulder, which personally adds to the appeal of living here, and the citywide ordinance also prohibits smoking within 15 feet of any city building. Friday, June 18, 2010, 9:15am MDT Boulder No. 2 on non-smoking list DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL Boulder comes in second on a list of 10 U.S. cities with the lowest smoking rates. The list comes from Heal...

We at Metroseen are very involved in helping spread the message about using cars a little bit less everyday (especially for short commutes) and want to help encourage bike commuting and all the ways to increase its desire and safety. More than that, we ourselves love to bike! I personally love my Italian steel Bianchi road bike! I ride it with pride! After all, this is bicycle town. Period. Leave out the pro-racers, the triathlete elitists and the hundreds of endurance athletes. That's a huge population of it's own in Boulder. What I mean is that Boulder is the most amazing bicycle-commuter-fr...

Wanna do something super-fun this weekend? This Sunday is the incredible B360. I first heard about this ride about 4 years ago, when we rode it as a family for the first time. It was so much fun that first year, (which was also the ride's 10th anniversary) that we made sure to attend in the following years. I'd put this on the list of events in town not to be missed! The B360 comes in two versions, a 28 mile loop that covers most of the city, and the B180, a 16 mile loop featuring the condensed tour. Both are purely leisure rides - fun for everyone. You'll see all ages on all kinds of bikes a...

Untitled Document Bear with me briefly on this analogy. In 2004 Prince released his critically acclaimed CD Musicology, which has a song called "Life O' The Party" in which he sings, "...Throw the records out the window... CD's out the door. Might as well give it to the milkman. We don't want 'em no more." So you ask, 'Wait a minute? Why's he throwing CD's out the door? I just bought this very CD...' Oh, ok. He's talking about getting into LIVE MUSIC! The real thing. It's a song that honors what's real. I get it. And I love it! So, when I heard that In-Step: Activ...
