Our Story
Meet the Founders of Metroseen
Mark Montalbano had a napkin idea. The concept of metroseen.com was born at a local Boulder coffee house. While discussing with a friend in the film industry the need for businesses to be able to showcase themselves through video, the realization occured that the very coffee house they were sitting in dIdn't even have a website, let alone a video. Where would they even put the video? That led to the "hub" idea, which was the concept that really shot fireworks off in his head. Imagine a place where you can come back to over and over again to see the many local spots you've either never been to or would be curious to know more about. Now, make them come alive through video! He rode his scooter home as fast it allowed him to go so he could share the idea with his wife, Zoe.
Previously, Mark worked in the Natural Foods Industry for over 16 years. In 2007, he co-founded barackstar08 t-shirts - a company with stylish t-shirt designs that became popular and sold all over the world.
When not editing videos and trying to help create community, Mark plays with his 3 kids, strums his guitar in his spare-time, can ride a bike with 2 wheels, can dribble a basketball AND kick a soccer ball and enjoys learning as much as he can about graphic arts.
Zoe Montalbano is co-creator of metroseen.com. Her passion is for the arts, for beautiful cinematography and for love of a good story - in this case, the story of a metro area, and what gives it it's true character. Her collaboration on these ideas has been crucial to metroseen.com's deliverance. She has an an extensive amount of history working in management for retail and business establishments, making her a great resource for helping businesses tell their stories. Zoe founded barackstar08 t-shirts, which helped fundraise for the Obama campaign. She started it with one simple t-shirt design, and developed over ten others over the course of the exciting campaign (which she also worked tirelessly on). Her most proud accomplishment has been raising their 2 wonderful sons and just recently giving birth to a sweet little girl.
Zoe loves great literature, dance, our boxers, and her Morgan horse, Conrad.
Oh, and of course every business should have a mascot! Meet Hagenour silly boxer! Yes, he has paws that can tweet too! Go say hello to @metro_dog!
